I got up very early and the air temperature was 48 degrees F. The water temperature was 76 degrees F. so I spent two hours snorkeling and photographing. This image was taken under water using an underwater housing and tripod.
The mussel is the eastern Elliptio. It is a common mussel in Piseco Lake. For more information: www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek011022.html
