Index

Overview Dicots comprise the group of flowering plants (angiosperms) having two cotyledons (embryonic leaves) in the seed which usually appear at germination. Unlike the conifers (gymnosperms), these broadleaved plants have ovules enclosed for protection, in an ovary. Following successful fertilization, the ovules develop into seeds.

Most tropical trees are dicots.
