Overview
Sporocarps loosely grouped, often in rows, short-stalked, total height 2-2.7 mm. Sporotheca cylindrical with rounded ends, above ▒ bloated, less swollen below, 0.8-1 mm diam., (1.5-)1.8-2.2(-2.4) mm high, metallic dark-grey, with blue, violet or bronze iridescence. Hypothallus irregularly discoid, confluent, brown to red-brown, black at the base of the stalk. Stalk 0.3-0.5 mm long, stout, black, the base strongly widened. Peridium persistent, hyaline and tinged with brown at the base. Dehiscence into large flakes, leaving a 0.2-0.5 mm high cup. Columella c. 75% of the sporotheca, stout, often wider above. Capillitium reticulate, the threads often wide, the periphery with numerous fine, colourless, pointed free ends. Spore-mass dark-brown. Spores dark grey, verruculose, 12-13(-14) Ám diam. Plasmodium unknown.
