Dave,
Wonderful. Many, many thanks. Yes, please e-mail me a list of the 71
sawfly species, and I'll add them to our website's checklist of organisms
in the Park. The folks in the Park will be delighted with this early
spin-off from Elizabeth's ichneumonid project, as we're putting together
baseline data of what we know before we begin the ATBI in earnest We'll
keep them coming.
I'm in the process of arranging a visit to D.C. sometime in March or April
and will pay you a visit and pick up any material that you have ready for
scanning. My exact dates will depend on when an ASC advisory panel that
I'm on meets. I'll let you know as soon as I hear when.
Cheers,
Pick
> Dear Pick,
> Just to let you know I have gone through the GSMP sawflies you left
>several months ago. There were 71 species of Symphyta. A good start, but
>I estimate 350-400 may be found in the Park. I can send a list if you
>want. I'll be getting to the Panama collection soon.
> The GSMP samples are interesting because the sawfly composition is
>quite different from what I get in my VA collections and those you got in
>GA. Certain groups are much more diverse and better represented.
> Keep the material coming!
