General Information
"Front wing 2.6 to 9.3 mm long. Body very slender to rather stout,
usually slender. Apex of clypeus convex, the margin blunt. Cheek
usually 0.5 to 0.8 as long as the basal width of mandible. Genal
carina joining oral carina a distinct distance above base of mandible.
Apical 0.3 of flagellum not tapered or weakly tapered. Epomia absent
or short. Mesoscutum polished or rarely mat, usually with punctures
anteriorly but not elsewhere, in a few species punctate all over.
Lower half of mesopleurum moderately convex. Hind edge of metanotum
without a sublateral projection. Propodeal spiracle round or short
elliptic. Pleural carina of propodeum present or absent. Apical
carina present, though sometimes obsolescent. Propodeum moderately
long, in front of basal carina usually with rather coarse punctures and
oftenwith some transverse wrinkling. Tarsal claws of moderate length,
usually pectinate to apex. Areolet lacking, the intercubitus rather
