Susan,

Thanks for the offer of Paul's help. We're still putting our organization
together and can use all the organizational help that we can get. Please
have Paul call me at 706-542-1115, and I'll try to fit him as best as
possible.

We need help in four primary areas: science, education, development and
general organization. At this point in time our weakness is in general
organization. We are not harnessing all the energy that is available to
help us in the other three areas. I've had several requests such as yours
that have as of yet gone unanswered because we don't yet have the mechanism
to plug volunteers, school classes, scout troups, etc. into our
organization.

Depending on what Paul is interested in, my inclination is for him to help
get these volunteers organized and then support science, education, and
development. Last week Discover Life in America hired Jody Flemming as a
full-time administative assistant/coordinator. Jody is still getting his
feet wet and figuring out his own responsibilities. If Paul is interested,
I would like him to work alongside Jody until he has a better feel of our
(dis)organization and we can decide where he best can help. Fortunately,
Jody now is on-line <jody@discoverlife.org> and has a phone (423-430-7283).
He is based in the barn at Twin Creeks.

One mundane immediate need regarding the December meeting is to work the
phones/email to figure out who is coming to help us plan logistics.

Please ask Paul to register under our "Get Involved" link at
<www.discoverlife.org>.

Looking forward to your input at the December meeting. There should be
quite a few folks there interested in how best to involve classes of
students in the science of the ATBI.

Cheers,
Pick
