Re: Cost of ATBI

Leon called on earlier this week and said they were planning to do so later this week. If so, we want to get our traps back up immediately. Also please forgive me for the $100M firestorm. Jocelyn pressed me for a number. Based on an earlier conversation with her, I doubt that Science would have published her note on us if we weren't attempting a huge project. She was quite horrified when I told her actually how much we had raised so far. Only when I told her that we had huge plans did take me seriously. She also said that there is a catch-22 -- i.e., we won't get in Science if we don't have a huge project, and we won't have a huge project unless we get in Science. She seems very sympathetic to our cause. Also she thinks your estimates are way too low. Remember she has been writing about ATBI's for a while and knows Dan's $90M estimate. I finished teaching today! Cheers, Pick
