- $300 for each state
Award Criteria: The most creative and innovative exhibits in the
categories Botany, Environmental Science, and Zoology, exemplifying
field research in natural history and/or conservation biology in the
senior division (grades 9-12).
Awards Given: 1st - $100.00 check to student winner
$100.00 check to student winner's teacher
2nd - $50.00 check to student winner
$50.00 check to student winner's teacher
Honorable Mention - certificates to student and teacher
Working Awards: - 1st place student winner and teacher invited to Great
Smoky Mountains National Park to spend a day with an ATBI
representative, preferably with a research scientist, to demonstrate the
Discover Life in America ATBI Project and the science involved.
- Dr. Don Linzey's book, Mammals of the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park, given as additional prizes.
