GSMI Student Research Assistantships

The Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont (GSMI) has received grant #DLIA2001-04 for $3324.00. This grant will fund two 10-week paid student research assistantships for outstanding high school juniors and seniors. The goal is to provide significant contributions to the ATBI while providing two students an experience which might lead them to be the scientists of tomorrow. They will work on ATBI projects currently being conducted by GSMI, including inventories of moths, beetles, dragonflies, and bird parasites, and studies of the distribution of land snails and reptiles. All research projects have been developed with the input of TWiG members.
