ANTENNATUS

FROGFISHES

Skin thick, very densely covered with tiny spines; fish pole tapering to a fine point, without or with a tiny lure; third dorsal spine immobile, projecting upwards, bound to head by skin; no tail base, rear margins of dorsal and anal fins join body at base of tail fin; all rays of tail fin divided.

This small Indo-Pacific genus contains only two species; the only eastern Pacific species is endemic to that region.
