Overview
Sporocarps short-stipitate or sessile on a constricted base, closely gregarious or crowded, sometimes approaching a pseudoaethalium, often distorted by mutual pressure but rarely heaped. Sporothecae ovate to subcylindric, at first rosy, then brown or ochraceous. Peridium thin, metallic, persistent or somewhat fugacious above, the sides persisting as lobes. Calyculus scarcely differentiated, irregular, ± ribbed or fluted. Stalk, when present, up to 1.5 mm long, concolorous with the sporotheca or darker. Capillitium a loose, readily separating net, scarcely to moderately elastic, sometimes scanty, with inflations and many free ends, the threads mostly 3-4 µm wide, marked with warts and low transverse cogs that often simulate spirals. Spores very minutely spinulose, with scattered larger warts, 7-8 µm diam. Plasmodium white, then rosy.
