Scales cycloid, small and deciduous. Scales on mandibular ramus comparatively large, arranged in a single row.
Benthopelagic fishes in the deep sea. A rare species of macrourids from the upper continental slope off northwestern Taiwan at depths between 400m and 800m. Food of these fishes consists of a wide range of fish and both benthic and pelagic invertebrates.
