Red brown above, white below, yellow and red diagonal bars on upper sides; first dorsal clear, with brown dots and a large dark spot between 4th and 5th spines; second dorsal 2-3 dusky stripes; 3 dark chevron bars on tail; pectoral red.
Size: 15 cm.
Habitat: sand and mud bottoms.
Depth: 20-191 m.
Southern Baja and SW and NE Gulf of California to Peru, the Revillagigedos, Cocos Island and Galapagos.
