Geographic distribution
According to Krombein, this species is distributed from Quebec south to North Carolina, and as far west as Michigan.

Natural history
According to Krombein et al.(1979), hosts include:
  • Lambdina pellucidaria (G. and R.)
Heinrich (1960) first described both the male and female of Cratichneumon subfilatus.
