Overview
Sporocarps gregarious or scattered, total height rarely exceeding 1.5 mm. Sporothecae usually erect, sometimes nodding, dull orange-brown to dark brown, (0.05-)0.2-0.4(-0.6) mm diam. Stalk subulate, wrinkled, dark brown to black at the base, fading to concolorous above, 0.5-1 mm long. Hypothallus not evident. Peridial cup 30-50% of the sporotheca, with indistinct ribs, the margin toothed or irregular, bearing many 1-2 µm diam., dark calcic granules. Peridial net with meshes of variable size and with few free ends, the nodes variable, mostly flat and expanded, but with some large, somewhat thickened and irregular, others smaller, the connecting threads mostly delicate and slender, except between the large nodes where they may be broad and filled with calcic granules. Spore-mass orange-brown. Spores dull yellow or brownish yellow, verruculose, somewhat angular, with a delicate reticulum, (6.5-)7-8.5(-9) µm diam. or sometimes slightly oval. Plasmodium dingy greyish black, becoming white before fruiting.
