Geographic distribution |
The geographic distribution for Cryptus rufovinctus is restricted to the United States, west of the Rockies, and possibly as far north as British Columbia (Pratt, 1945).

Natural history |
Cryptus rufovinctus is also a parasitoid of Synanthedon bibiopennis, S. opalescens, and Etiella zinckenella (Pyralidae) (Pratt, 1945).
