Overview
Sporocarps gregarious. Sporothecae cylindrical or elliptical, 0.4-0.6 mm diam., metallic blue, bronze or purple. Hypothallus white, calcareous. Stalk stout, white, calcareous, up to half the total height. Peridium membranous. Columella cylindrical, thick, calcareous, almost reaching to the apex of the sporotheca. Capillitium arising from the whole length of the columella, consisting of purple-brown, branched and anastomosed threads, pale at the tips. Spore-mass black. Spores dull lilac, 8-11 µm diam., verruculose. Plasmodium white.
