West Palaearctic species, widely distributed in Slovenia. It almost disappeared from central Slovenia after some very dry years.
Oligolectic, specialized on
(Boraginaceae). Nests in various pre-existing cavities, e.g. in burrows in wood. The cell partitions are made of sand and clay.
Univoltine. Flies from May to July.
