Overview
Sporocarps sessile on a narrowed base to sub-stipitate. Stalk, when present, usually very short, seldom 50% total height, dark, opaque, 20-25 µm diam., up to 44 µm long. Sporotheca ± globose, yellowish to olivaceous to dark bluish grey, generally ± iridescent blue and red, 40-110 µm diam. Peridium smooth, membranous, very thin, with basal deposits of refuse material, by TL ± colourless, densely and minutely papillate inside, the papillae often arranged in a ± reticulate pattern. Dehiscence circumscissile along the margin of the thickened base which persists as a shallow, regular cup. Spore-mass olivaceous yellow. Spores pale olivaceous yellow, ± globose, smooth, with a thinner, paler area, 8.5-10.5 µm diam.
