Note that the thorax and head ground color for this species is a dark red in females and with extensive red - mostly in the ventral areas - in the male...most members of this group tend to have a dark brown or black base integument color

COLORADO: 1 Pueblo, in a vacant lot in town, August 9, 1920.
Previously known from the Mesilla Valley, New Mexico. The
anterior coxre have very short but distinct spines.
