Ferruginous ; head and thorax densely and confluently punctured; sides of face, clypeus, spot above, labrum, base of mandibles, posterior orbits, collar, tegula, tubercles, band or two spots on scutellum, generally a line on postscutellum, and a more or lees distinct mark on pleura, yellow ; dot on each aide of clypeus at base, space around base of antenna, spot enclosing ocelli, posterior margin of head, moat of prothorax, anterior middle of mesothorax, and the metathorax, except two yellow ?pot? sometimes margined with ferruginous, black; antenna pale fer rugi noua, third and fourth joints equal in length; scutellum slightly bilobate; wings faintly dusky, darker at a|?ex; legs pale ferruginous, knees and tibia more or lees yellow, coxa black behind ; abdomen shining, very minutely punctured, yel low, basal half of first segment ferruginous, apical margin of segments 1?4 narrowly brown or ferruginous; venter yellow,ferruginous at base; the yellow band on first segment is often more or less deeply notched on the anterior middle. Length .40?16 inch. Hab.?Colorado, (II. K. Morrison). Eight specimens.

Identification
Extracted from Western Bees obtained by the American Museum Expeditions by Cockerell (1921).


COLORADO: 2 , South Fork, about 8200 ft. alt., near the junction of the two headwaters of the Rio Grande, June 17, 1919. One differs from the type in having the spots on metathorax entirely red and yellow band on first abdominal segment broadly interrupted. The other has the spots on metathorax yellow.
