Parnopes chrysoprasinus F. Smith
Parnopes chrysoprasinus F. Smith 1874:454. Holotype male, North Carolina (BMNH).
Parnopes aglaspidula Melander and Brues 1902:38. Lectotype female, Chicago, Illinois (USNM).
Discussion: P. chrysoprasinus resembles edwardsii except that the metanotal projection is emarginate and the posterolateral angles of T-II-III or IV are whitish. Body length is 7-9 mm.
Hosts: Evans (1966) reported chrysoprasinus as a parasite of Bembix nubilipennis Cresson, and tentatively B. americana spinolae Lepeletier.
Material examined: 9 males, 6 females, including both types.
Distribution: U.S. east of the 100th meridian. MICHIGAN (Midland, Delta, Shiawassee, Genessee Counties), GEORGIA (Richmond, Crawford Counties), MINNESOTA (Clearwater,. Beltrami Counties), CONNECTICUT (Toland Co.), ILLINOIS (Storey McDonough, Scott Counties, TEXAS (Galveston Co.), WISCONSIN Wood Co.) INDIANA (Ripley Co.), PENNSYLVANIA (Pike County) NEW YORK orange, Wayne Counties), NEW JERSEY (Morris Co. 5, NORTH CAROLINA, FLORIDA (Alachua Co.). Collection dates were May through August. It is found in the Austral Life Zone.
