Perichaena microspora
Overview
Plasmodiocarpous, varying from short to long or reticulate, 0.25-0.35 mm diam., salmon pink to ochraceous buff. Peridium appearing single, yellow, membranous, strongly papillose on the inner surface, thickened with granular matter at the base. Capillitium reticulate, lax, concolorous, yellowish pink in the mass, almost colourless when mounted, the threads even to torulose, 1.5-2 µm diam., with nodular expansions at the axils, or sometimes irregular, 1.5-5 µm diam., densely covered with delicate spines up to 2 µm 1ong, the tips attached to the peridium. Spore-mass yellowish pink. Spores pale yellow, minutely spinulose, 6-7 µm diam. Plasmodium unknown.
