When the Dead River has maximum flow, water reaches this swallet and goes underground. It is not seen again until the Alapaha Rise: www.thiswaytothe.net/springs/pages/alapaha-river-rise-ham... It is large and full of logs and trash. There was a large pool of water that looks like it might a good dive lead. The pool is full of large garfish. It is approximately 50 vertical feet from the top of the sink to the bottom. For more information: www.srwmd.state.fl.us/index.aspx?NID=178
