The Bat Cave system is considered the longest tectonic cave system of its kind in the world. That is based in the current survey of 1.25 miles. The cave is developed in Henderson Gneiss. At least one species of endangered bat uses the cave as a hibernaculum. The cave is owned by The Nature Conservancy. It is not open to the public. We had special permission to photograph in the cave. I added some light to the inside of the cave in this image. I think it gives it some depth.
