As with most Boletes I have a difficult time with identification. My identification is tentative. The key says the stem is typically long. On other less perfect specimens the stem was long. There was also variable cap color in the populations I saw. Many of these were growing in mixed hemlock forest. For more information: www.mushroomexpert.com/austroboletus_gracilis.html
