Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal spines : 3; Anal soft rays : 11 - 12. Juveniles and sub adults have a pair of ocelli on the dorsal fin which disappears with growth (Ref. 1602 , 48636 ).
