Overview
Sporocarps stalked, rarely sessile, 1.5-1.8 mm tall. Sporotheca globose or subglobose, 1-1.3 mm diam. Stalk up to c. 30% of the total height, opaque, nearly black, strongly grooved. Hypothallus extensive, hyaline to translucent red-brown. Peridium persistent, violet-blue iridescent, rugulose, scattered with white needle-like calcic crystals. Columella reaching to half the height of the sporotheca. Capillitium lax with few anastomoses and more branched near the periphery, clear brown, paler outwards. Spore-mass dark brown. Spores pale brown, verrucose, (9-)10-12(-12.5) µm diam. Nivicole.
