Overview
An entomology enthusiast from a young age, Maxim Larrivée holds a Masters in landscape ecology at Carleton University in Ottawa and a Ph.D. in entomology at McGill University. He specializes in the study of the impacts of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on biodiversity of several groups of arthropods including spiders, beetles and moths. He is the designer eButterfly a project of citizen participation in science aimed at the long-term monitoring of the distribution of butterflies of Canada in the context of global changes. Mr. Larrivée is also interested in the management of biodiversity information in Canada, including through the development of collections and the development of educational tools to educate young people about entomology, climate change and the use of web processing tools biodiversity information.
