The goal of my webpage is to discuss the different characteristics of Papaveraceae Sanguinaria canadensis . I have done this by linking pages of both Sanguinaria canadensis and pages of different Papaveraceae in general in order to establish a comparison. I will often refer to Sanguinaria canadensis as Bloodroot, its common name throughout this webpage. Click here to see where the common name BLOODROOT came from!

Sanguinaria canadensis is a member of the Poppy family (Papaveraceae), a small group of some 115 species and 23 genera, found mostly in north temperate zones. Sanguinaria canadensis is the only member of its genus in the world.
