Common Name: Rose Trillium, Whippoorwill Flower 2,3,4
There are two varieties of Trillium cuneatum: Trillium cuneatum cuneatum Raf.  and Trillium cuneatum luteum (Muhl.) Ahles.

var. cuneatum has petals, stamens, and ovaries are purple, maroon to wine red.4  They may have yellow flowers, however the yellow flowered cuneatum cuneatum "apparently do not breed true from seed." 4

var. luteum has petals, stamens, and ovaries which are usually yellow are yellowish green.4
