Websites Database Activities
    2005
Worked with the University's Office of Technology Management to create a non-exclusive research/internal business use license to the Mandala database software.

Completely overhauled 10 year old Mandala database, examining and renaming all layouts, fields, value lists, relationships, scripts; reduced the number of tables from 27 to 23. Brought together functionality for conducting systematics research (detailed nomenclatural history, specimen-based collections and loan tracking), bioinventory research (dealing with bulk samples sorted for idenfication by specialists and dealt with as loans to these specialsts), and biodiversity blitzes.

2005 Demonstrated Mandala at the Bishop Museum in Hawaii and at the Canadian National Collection, Ottawa in March.

      2006

Submitted chapter for publication on Mandala, February

Release of Mandala 7.0 compatible with FileMaker Pro 7/8 bringing therevid PEET and Fiji Arthropod Survey databases into production, March.

Host the following databases on FileMaker Server Advanced that I maintain and aided in database development as indicated: INHS Technical Report Number Generator database - worked with Susan Braxton; INHS IT Audit database - modified from stand alone database and cleaned up for IT Committee and selected others to conduct IT audit for INHS; INHSWebsiteTracking - modified and enhanced database I originally created for Entomological Society for similar purpose

2007 Debuted new searching capabilities for therevid fly and Fiji Arthropod Bioinventory data online through FileMaker's Instant Web Publishing engine using a browser. PHP search interface for Fiji data added in March; for therevid fly database in July/August.
