PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Polistes Corporation, Athens, GA (January, 2007 - present)

  • Web Administrator (June, 2007 - present).
    Worked as a personal assistant for Dr. Pickering and helped design and maintain the website www.discoverlife.org. Responded to e-mails of website users, acted as a lesion between the website and its contributors, tracked workers' hours, trained new workers and volunteers, and various other activities to assist in running the computer lab and building and sustaining the website.
University of Georgia Ecology Department, Athens, GA (November, 2006 - May, 2007)
  • Research Assistant, Dov Sax, Ph. D., University of Georgia (January, 2007 - May, 2007).
    Worked as a project manager to explore similar characteristics between corporations and ecological systems. Investigated previous research on the similarities between corporations and ecological systems in the fields of ecology, psychology and business. Gathered secondary and primary data from corporations worldwide in order to interpret visible qualitative trends similar to the theories present in ecology. Secretarial duties such as file maintenance and creating PDF files for all resources used in the lab.
  • Research Assistant, Dov Sax, Ph. D., University of Georgia (November, 2006 - January 2007).
    Assisted in gathering data and creating spreadsheets for a project that examined the trend for mammals and birds to fluctuate in size after being isolated on an island. Worked with a team of undergraduate students to create spreadsheets based on specimen availability of multiple museums. Gathered data on 300 species across Islands worldwide.
Capital Hills Lists, Athens, GA (March, 2006 - May, 2007).
  • Data Management (June, 2006 - May, 2007).
    Compiled excel spreadsheets tracking over 100,000 contributors of the Republican Party nationwide. This information was then used to create lists of prospective donors to new candidates running for office.
  • Data Collection Assistant (March, 2006 - November, 2006).
    Helped to track daily contributions for former Congressman Bob Barr's PAC. This consisted of organizing a daily intake of mail, separating the prospective contributors and the previous contributors, then maintaining a database in Campaign Manager to help track over 10,000 contributors.
Survey Research Center, University of Georgia, Athens, GA (February, 2004 - November, 2006).
  • Shift Supervisor (September, 2005 - November, 2006).
    Helped oversee a staff of around forty employees who conducted telephone surveys for educational research. Trained new employees, tracked hours for payroll, gave disciplinary warnings, evaluated employees on their performance, and maintained records of employees' productivity and attendance. Worked as a link between undergraduate employees and management by communicating employees' needs to management and the expectations of management to the telephone interviewers. Helped maintain morale by assisting in recreating an incentive program for the hourly employees based on number of completed interviews and overall dialings each day. Gained extensive knowledge of the WinCati computer program.
