Structure: Head rounded in cephalic view; eyes slightly convergent, narrowly rounded above, subtruncate at malar area; frontal carina simple, sulciform beneath median ocellus; circumantennal area shallowly depressed; alveolocellar area gently convex; vertex and supraorbital area limited posteriorly by preoccipital carina; gena unmodified; median portion of hypostomal carina when viewed laterally of uniform height and terminating anteriorly in a right-angled tooth, when viewed ventrally angle between median and lateral portions about 120°. Pronotal with transverse carina basal in position and distinct only medially; dorsolateral angle rounded, not carinate; lateral carina distinct but terminated beneath dorsolateral angle; pronotal pit sulciform; scutum with caudal end of admedian line and cephalic end of admedian line overlapping on imaginary transverse line; notauli poorly defined caudad; metapleural line carinate; lateral procoxal angle narrowly rounded; protibia and mesotibia with simple, single dorsoapical spines; basitibial plate small, acute, its elevated apex at basal 0.24 of tibial length. Metasoma widest at segments 3—4; terga 2—5 constricted at distinct graduli, each slightly constricted subapically; gradulus of tergum 4 terminating laterally beyond and below spiracle at a distance of 2.3 spiracle lengths; tergum 6 with median central flattened area; gradulus of sternum 2 arcuate, gradulus of sternum 3 slightly so; wax glands half-moon shaped.

Sculpture and vestiture: Head shiny between punctures, largely impunctate on clypeal disc, lowest supraclypeal area, lowest paraocular area, subantennal area, alveolocellar area and a very narrow band extending behind eye and sparsely punctured on gena; elsewhere with fine punctures about a puncture width apart or less and largely simple setae; punctures closer in inter- alveolar and alveolorbital areas, laterally on supraorbital area, and postgena; mandible base with sparse fine and minute punctures; setae longer in interalveolar area, vertex, labral disc and apically on mandible. Sides of pronotum moderately punctured less than a puncture width apart; impunctate area before pronotal pit; scutal disc shiny, virtually impunctate except sparsely anteriorly, fine punctures marginally and becoming closer than a puncture width apart laterally and on axilla; scutellar disc sparsely punctured, fine punctures becoming closer and less than a puncture width apart laterally and posteriorly; metanotum finely punctured throughout, less than a puncture width apart; mesopleuron with coarse punctures less than a puncture width apart and nearly contiguous laterally, becoming more widely spaced posteroventrally, setae narrowly plumose (resembles fig. 8a); entire hypoepimeral area punctate but sparsely in lower third; metapleuron finely punctured, about a puncture width apart, sparsely before metapleural pit; propodeal triangle of about 20 sublongitudinal carinulae, with some anastomosis and becoming indistinct and reticulate laterad; angle of propodeum impunctate, minutely coriaceous; sides finely punctured, becoming closer and smaller laterad, with long erect, narrowly plumose setae. Loose scopa of mostly three-branched setae on outer surface of tibia. Metasomal tergum 1 finely punctured on dorsal surface several puncture widths apart, virtually impunctate on anterior surface; terga 2—5 with scattered fine punctures on pregradular area near gradulus, postgradular punctures fine and several puncture widths apart on discs of more anterior terga, becoming closer laterad and apically, with short appressed simple setae; ground shiny, but subapically minutely roughened on terga 3—4; tergum 5 sparsely papillate subapically; tergum 6 finely punctured about a puncture width apart or more, ground moderately papillate basally becoming rugulose apically; setae short, simple, except in central area which is punctured but free of papillae and setae. Sterna finely punctured, more than a puncture width apart, setae simple, coarse, suberect, dense at apex of abdomen; setae of wax glands appressed.

Color: Body metallic dark blue (ISCC-NBS 183) with minor yellowish green reflections on the scutum; metallic colors lacking on labrum, mandibles, mesoscutal disc, and wax glands. Ivory marks: reduced on clypeus, to narrow irregular stripe less than a fourth the length of clypeus; spots at bases of all tibiae, being largest on metatibia. Pronotal lobes dark. Antennae fuscous, lighter beneath; legs proximally fuscous, femora and tibiae faintly metallic, tarsi apically testaceous; mandibles apically testaceous; wing membrane subhyaline, tegula and venation testaceous. Body setae pale flavescent.

Holotype male.—Measurements and ratios: wing, 4.6; hamuli, 5; eye, 115:130 :100:100; elypeus 60 x 95:32:85; interocellar, 20:40:20:50, diameter 21.0; frontal carina, 70; malar area, Ox 40; interalveolar, 30:20:35:40, diameter 21.0; antenna, 40:12:12:10:8:12, diameter 14; subpleural signum, 15 x 5.0.

Structure: Head rounded in cephalic view; eyes convergent below, narrowly rounded above, broadly rounded at malar area; frontal carina simple, distinct between alveolae, sulciform beneath median ocellus; circumantennal area shallowly depressed; alveolocellar area gently convex; vertex and supraorbital area limited posteriorly by preoccipital ridge with a low carina; gena unmodified; median portion of hypostomal carina when viewed laterally slightly higher posteriorly, terminating anteriorly without a tooth, when viewed ventrally lateral portion arcuate. Pronotum with transverse carina basal in position and distinct only medially; dorsolateral angle rounded, not carinate; lateral carina distinct but terminated beneath dorsolateral angle; pronotal pit circular; seutum with caudal end of admedian line and cephalic end of parapsidal line overlapping on imaginary transverse line; notauli poorly defined caudad; metapleural line carinate; lateral procoxal angle narrowly rounded; protibia and metotibia with simple, single dorsoapical spines; ventral profile of metatrochanter right-angled, apical ventral facet partly developed, fine sparse setae; width of metafemur at tooth 0.47 length, tooth sharp, acute 80° angle, basal ventral facet narrow, distinct, directed posteriorly, polished concave surface, ventroposterior edge with sparse, long, narrowly plumose setae (resembles fig. 9g).
