Overview
Sporocarps gregarious or crowded, sessile or rarely short-stalked. Sporothecae hemispherical or globose, 0.4-0.5 mm.diam., iridescent silvery, grey or bronze, seated on or embedded in a white hypothallus. Peridium membranous, nearly colourless by TL, shining. Stalk, when present, usually short and stout, but sometimes over half the total height, furrowed, calcareous, white. Columella white, calcareous, convex, conical or short-cylindrical, sometimes lacking. Capillitium a network of purple-brown threads which radiate from the columella or the base of the sporotheca. Spores pale violet-grey, distinctly warted or spinulose, 8-11 µm diam. Plasmodium orange-yellow.
