Didymium minus
Overview
Sporocarps short-stalked, gregarious, up to 0.8 mm in total height. Sporothecae depressed-globose, umbilicate below, 0.4-0.6 mm diam., white. Hypothallus dark, discoid. Stalk slender, black or dark brown, usually not exceeding 50% of the total height. Peridium membranous, delicate, frosted with stellate crystals. Columella globose or depressed-globose, dark brown. Capillitium delicate, colourless, branched but with few anastomoses. Spore-mass black. Spores dark violet brown, 8-10 µm diam., cluster-warted. Plasmodium dark purplish-grey.
