Overview
Grows on lactose-yeast extract and on oak bark pH 6 agar media with Flavobacterium sp. added. sporocarps 95-135 µm tall; stalks 60-87.6 µm long, containing conspicuous cytoplasmic particles and ingested bacteria deposited apically by the rising sporogen; spores uninucleate, 33.6-51.5 µm diam, usually surrounded by scabrous sheaths containing bacteria. The amoeba typically contains a nucleus and a contractile vacuole. Amoebae typically uninucleate and surrounded by a sheath that contains small particles and frequently bacteria; cysts typically globose, each usually surrounded by a scabrous sheath, 24-38.4 µm.
