Click on image to enlarge. © Copyright Ross Robertson, 2006 · 12 Euleptorhamphus see all kinds   •  1 thumbnail  •  slide show Kinds Euleptorhamphus velox, Flying Halfbeak Euleptorhamphus viridis, Longfin Garfish español Overview Main identification features body = very compressed ribbon tail fin deeply fork beak very long pectoral very long (~1/4 sl) EULEPTORHAMPHUS HALFBEAKS Body extremely elongate, compressed, ribbon-like; lower jaw very long; teeth on roof of mouth and tongue; pectorals very long (>1/4 standard length); dorsal and anal fins with long bases (20-25 rays), slightly raised front lobes, origins opposite; tail deeply forked, lower lobe larger. A circumtropical genus with 2 species; 1 Indo-Pacific species is present in the tropical eastern Pacific.
