Overview
Sporocarps stalked, up to 1.5 mm total height. Sporothecae subglobose, basally flattened or umbilicate, 0.4-0.9 mm diam., shining, iridescent blue, often with violet or bronze reflections. Hypothallus membranous, reddish-brown. Stalk black, up to 75% of the total height. Columella cylindrical, obtuse, reaching to 66% of the height of the sporotheca. Capillitium of pale threads, usually pale brown or darker and then only in the middle, arising from the upper part of the columella and branched to form a dense reticulum, very slender towards the tips. Spore-mass black. Spores purplish-grey, 8-11 µm diam., minutely spinulose. Plasmodium white.
