Overview
Sporocarps stalked, in small groups, up to 4 mm total height. Sporothecae globose, 0.5-1 mm diam., steel-blue, iridescent. Hypothallus conspicuous, dark brown. Stalk black, 1-3 mm high. Columella cylindrical, blunt, reaching the centre of the sporotheca. Capillitium arising mostly from the apex of the columella, stout, branched and anastomosed but not forming a very intricate net, purplish-brown, the tips slender and colourless. Spore-mass black. Spores dark grey, 15-20 µm diam., spinose. Plasmodium white.
