Overview
Sporocarps scattered, globose, stalked, erect, blue or iridescent bronze, 0.3-0.5 mm diam., total height 0.6-1 mm. Peridium thin, membranous, more persistent at the base. Stalk thick, black, shining, 50-65% of the total height. Hypothallus discoid, purple-brown. Columella thick, tapered slightly to the obtuse end, attaining the centre of the sporotheca. Capillitium dense, the threads rigid, radiating from the tip of the columella, forked dichotomously but with few anastomoses, purple-brown throughout. Spore-mass black. Spores violet-brown, with large, blunt, irregularly scattered spines, (6.5-)8-10(-14) µm diam. Plasmodium unknown.
