Overview
Sporocarps sessile, scattered, rarely in groups, pulvinate on a constricted base, 0.5-0.8 mm diam., grey-purple, iridescent. Hypothallus dark. Peridium membranous, wrinkled, the base bearing 2-15 µm diam. crystalline scales. Dehiscence by vertical splitting. Columella convex, dark. Capillitium a network of wavy, black threads, radiating from the columella, the tips and bases pale, the bases often expanded and containing granular matter which sometimes is calcareous, the threads nodulose. Spore-mass dark brown. Spores violet grey, 10-13 µm diam., verrucose. Plasmodium grey.
