Overview
Sporocarps scattered, stipitate, up to 1.3 mm total height. Sporocarp oblongo-ovate, dark brown, up to 0.6 mm tall and up to 0.4 mm wide. Stalk concolorous with the sporocarp, longitudinally grooved, slightly tapered upwards, up to 0.9 mm long and up to 0.2 mm wide Hypothallus membranous, pallid but marked by dark brown ridges radiating from the base of the stalk. Peridium dark brown, tough, thick, opaque, marked by irregular but mostly longitudinal, anastomosing ridges enclosing shallow pits somewhat like those of Morchella, marked at the base by ridges radiating from the top of the stalk. Dehiscence irregular. Spore-mass bright cream-coloured or ochraceous. Spores hyaline but with contents rose-tinted, globose, smooth or faintly verrucose, 14-15 µm diam. On decaying bamboo twigs, Darjeeling, India.
