Overview
This amazing ant species is found nesting in the intertidal zone in coral off the southern tip of the Philippine archipelago as well as in Papua New Guinea and the Solomons. Its nest may be immersed at high tide.

Geographic distribution
New Guinea, the Philippines and the Solomon Islands. In the Philippines, Tawi-tawi Island and Bohol Island.

Natural history
Needs study, reportedly nests in coral areas.

How to encounter
Look for large ants on the intertidal zone as the seawater recedes during ebb tide. They might come out to forage.
