Physarum confertum
Overview
Sporocarps heaped, subglobose, 0.2-0.4 mm diam., violet brown to black. Hypothallus dark, inconspicuous. Peridium single, thin, translucent, often without calcareous deposits but usually sprinkled with lime globules. Capillitium sparse, with small, fusiform nodes and hyaline tubules, the junctions often without calcareous deposits. Spore-mass black. Spores violet-brown, 10-13 µm diam., verruculose. Plasmodium white, turning pink then black.
