Overview
Primarily plasmodiocarpous, varying to sporocarpous, sessile, 0.2-0.4 mm diam., the plasmodiocarps up to 4 mm long, often sinuous but rarely branched. Peridium double, the outer layer white, crustose, of firmly compacted lime, sometimes scantily developed, the inner layer membranous, translucent, not firmly attached to outer layer. Capillitium sparse to abundant, the nodes white, angular and irregular, sometimes massed to form a central pseudocolumella. Spore-mass black. Spores yellow-brown, sparsely covered with coarse black warts, 1.5-2 µm tall, connected by stout membranes, giving them a strongly, somewhat irregularly, reticulate appearance, with 11-20 meshes to the hemisphere, the spore-body 8-10 µm diam., over-all diam. 11-14 µm. Plasmodium white.
