Physarum lateritium
Overview
Sporocarps sessile, forming sporocarps or rarely short plasmodiocarps, globose or subglobose, 0.3-0.7 mm diam., orange or red. Peridium thin, wrinkled, motted with red calcareous scales. Capillitium delicate, consisting of pale yellow tubules, the nodes often membranous, without calcareous globules, or filled with pale yellow lime, usually with red or deep yellow centres. Spore-mass violet-brown. Spores clear violet, 7-9 µm diam., verruculose. Plasmodium orange-yellow.
