Overview
Sporothecae gregarious, short-stipitate or sessile, depressed-annulate or umbilicate above, rugulose, white above or rarely rose-tinted, darker below, 0.4-0.7 mm diam. Stalk, when present, thick, black, rough. Hypothallus black, inconspicuous. Columella absent. Capillitium strongly calcareous, the nodes white, irregular, sometimes massed to form a central pseudocolumella, the tubules short, hyaline. Spore-mass black. Spores dark purplish brown, with a paler area, minutely and closely verruculose, 12-14(-15) µm diam. Plasmodium unknown.
