Overview
Primarily sporocarpous, rarely plasmodiocarpous, clustered, sessile, often on a narrowed base, then sometimes substipitate or on an repent stalk, 0.5-1 mm diam., bright ochraceous to pallid. Peridium double, the outer layer rough, calcareous, breaking up into coarse, irregular fragments, the inner layer membranous, darkened by calcareous flakes and globules, both layers persisting as a basal cup. Capillitium lax, the nodes large, white, angular, often aggregated to form a central pseudocolumella. Spore-mass black. Spores dark purplish brown, spinose, 11-13 µm diam. Plasmodium unknown.
