Overview
Sporocarps stalked, gregarious. Sporothecae globose, (0.2-)0.4-0.(-0.7) mm diam., even or somewhat wrinkled, bright to deep maroon, reddish violet or purple. Stalk cylindrical, impregnated with lime, concolorous or darker, 50-80% of the total height. Columella small, conical, sometimes absent. Capillitium delicate, dense, the numerous, small, rounded, purple-red nodes connected by pinkish threads, with larger, often with irregular nodes towards the centre, these rarely united into a distinct pseudocolumella. Spore-mass dark brown. Spores pale pinkish lilac, globose, verruculose, the warts often clustered, 7.5-8.5 µm diam. Plasmodium deep purple or dark red.
